Q. Why do you start the title all of your posts with "In which..."?
A. I liked A.A. Milne's stories about Winnie the Pooh as a kid. They always started with "In which...". So I just started to title all of my blog posts that way years ago.
Q. Why is your blog called "Emerging Mummy?"
A. Well, it's not a lame homage to horror films of the 50s. It's sort of a double entendre: one part because I am a fairly-new-and-still-learning Mum, therefore just emerging as a mummy. You'd be forgiven for thinking that was the only reason: I write about my tinies almost to the exclusion of everything else some weeks. But the other reason is because, in 2005 when I started this blog, I was on the fringes of the Emerging Church community. From a faith perspective, I consider myself more "post-emerging church" now (whatever that means) but regardless, the movement of the emerging church gave me new eyes to see the truth, the beauty of this crazy family, the Blood that runs through all of our veins. It introduced me to what we used to call "ancient-future" thinkers and ideas with which I am still wrestling.
